In the morning of 16 April, Professor Silvia Barona Vilar, member of the Sustainable Law in a state of global change (JUSOST) project, took part in the Access to Justice and victims’ advocacy International Seminar, held at the headquarters of Santiago from the University of Talca.

Professor Barona took part with a lecture entitled The evolution of restorative justice driven by the focus on victim restitution, in which she analysed the restorative justice systems, focusing on the victim and the need for moving towards more human, participatory, and effective mechanisms for reparation and protection.

The seminar was developed in collaboration with the research group headed by Professor Gloria Mancilla and Professor Raúl Carnevali, as well as the participation of the recently created Dirección Nacional de Acceso a la Justicia (National Directorate for Access to Justice) fostering a space for interdisciplinary reflection on current challenges regarding victim protection and effective access to justice.

The participation of Professor Barona is included in the frame of the international activities promoted by the JUSOST project, aimed at analysing sustainable justice systems and strengthening Ibero-American educational networks committed to legal innovation and protection to vulnerable people.
