Silvia Barona Vilar, Professor of Procedural Law at the Universitat de València and Director of the MedArb Valencia Group of Excellence, publishes the article "Psychoanalysis of ADR. Challenges in the global society of the 21st century" in the new Journal "La Ley Mediación y Arbitraje", whose first issue has just appeared, taking as its title the meditated article.
Prof. Barona, known for her leadership in the field of ADR, addresses in this article the status quo of ADR and offers those parameters that, in her opinion, are presented as challenges of the 21st century society. A society that lives instantaneity, immediacy, and liquidity, that wants "a lot in a short time and with little cost", based on the value of efficiency as a parameter of social construction. ADRs are magnificent instruments for preventing and alleviating, where appropriate, the situation of constant conflict in which our society finds itself. ADRs are part of the Justice model, a Justice that goes beyond the process and the courts, it is possible to achieve through these means.
