Description

Description

The aging of the population suggests that epilepsy in the elderly will become a priority health issue comparable in number of patients and health costs to cardiovascular or neurodegenerative diseases, with which it has a close relationship. To address it, official bodies such as the International League Against Epilepsy created a Working Group in 2017, showing that, due to the characteristics of this population and its response to treatments and existing comorbidities, this is a little-studied issue that requires urgent effort from a multidisciplinary perspective. Therefore, the objective of this project is to detect vulnerability profiles in older men and women with epilepsy that allow their quality of life and functionality to be optimized.
