Parts and operation of the virtual room.
Once you have successfully accessed the server, the meeting room will show up automatically after a few seconds. The next image shows the several parts that will be displayed:
- Video: shows our camera image and the presenters’.
- Chat: here we can chat with all the participants.
- Attendees: this is the list of current participants and organisers.
- Share pod: shows the documents shared in the event.
In the Attendees pod you can check the role of each of the users. If they appear as participants (not as presenters) they will not have access to the webcam or microphone and won’t be able to make a presentation to the rest of attendees. You can turn attendees into presenters by clicking on their name and selecting the option "Convertir en presentador".
After this, participants become presenters and can activate their camera and microphone by clicking on the corresponding icons at the top of their screen:
When they click on these icons a window may pop up requesting permission to use these devices.
From that moment, their voice will be heard during the videoconference when they activate the microphone button, and their camera image will be displayed when they click on "Iniciar uso compartido" in the video pod after turning on the camera.
Sharing a presentation or desktop.
You may want to show a presentation to participants. The file to be displayed can have a PPT or PPTX format (PowerPoint). As host, you can go forward and backward in the presentation by using the corresponding buttons. You can also display JPG or PNG image files and MP3 (audio) and MP4 (video) media files.
The files that are most compatible with Adobe Connect, and are therefore most recommended, are Adobe-specific formats (PDF).
Any of the file types mentioned can be compressed into a ZIP file without needing to be extracted.
If the file that you want to show is none of the types above, you can open it with the associated application in your device and then share your desktop with the participants.
You can also do this when you want to show the participants an Internet browser or an application such as SPSS, Mathematica or any other that you have installed on your computer.

Cleaning the room at the end of the session.
Once you have completed your event as host, if the room was User type (that is, the URL that you were assigned was reunion.uv.es/user) you do not need to delete the pdf documents, PowerPoint presentations, recordings or the chat with the participants’ interventions. This room has been assigned only to you and works only when requested.
However, if you have been assigned a room associated to a master’s degree, a project, a faculty, etc., you must bear in mind that this room may be used by other users who can view such content, recordings, chats or files. It is therefore recommended to spend a few minutes deleting those contents.
