The Business and Humanism Chair celebrates the 1st Seminar of Financial Education in values

1st Seminar of Financial Education in values

Last October 19 the 1st Seminar was celebrated in the Faculty of Economy on The human side of the finance: financial education in values and knowledge, organized by the Chair of Business and Humanism of the Universitat de València. In this meeting teachers, researchers and students took part with the intention of debating on the importance of the human component in the managerial and economic area.

The day was inaugurated by Francisco Muñoz (Vice-dean of Postdegree in Research of the Faculty of Economy, Francisco Álvarez (General Manager of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism of the Generalitat Valenciana) and Tomás Gonzalez (The Director of the Chair of Business and Humanism).

The presentation began on the condition of the financial education, financial culture and capture of decisions at the expense of Fernando Ibáñez, president of ethics Patrimonios EAFI. The rest of presentations, given by Isabel Giménez (General Manager of the FEBF) and Fernando Tejada (Director of Conduct of Markets of the Bank of Spain) approached important questions as the importance of the professional qualifications in the financial world and a financial education that combines knowledge and values.

The meeting closed with a round table in which there took part representatives of the university, institutional and managerial world, addressing the issue: There is humanity and ethics in finance and financial education?

With this act there was closed a day that fulfilled its aim to highlight relevant topics as the financial early education, the development of competences in the personal and professional area or the need to provide with ethics and humanity to the decisions that take in the financial area.
