Between 5 October and 9 November, an online course on comic translation from Arabic into Spanish will take place, coordinated by the Al Fanar Foundation for Arab Knowledge and the Comic Studies Chair SM Foundation-University of Valencia.

The course is a virtual didactic proposal that offers an introduction to the world of comics, to its use as a tool for bringing together imaginaries between cultures and to the specialized translation of this type of cultural manifestations. The aim of this training is to enable participants in the online sessions to become familiar with the language and codes of comics and graphic novels in general, and of the Arab world in particular, as well as to acquire the necessary skills to translate comics from Arabic into Spanish.

The academic directors of the course are Álvaro Pons (director of the Comic Studies Chair SM Foundation-Universitat de València), Pilar Garrido Clemente (University of Murcia) and Mónica Carrión Otero (Al Fanar Foundation).
