The conference by Juan José Lahuerta will take place on 9 February
Juan José Lahuerta is an architect and professor of Art History and Architecture at the School of Architecture of Barcelona. He has been a member of the Collegio Docenti della Scuola Dorrorati of the Instituto Universitario di Architettura IUAV of Venice, and tenured professor at the King Juan Carlos I Chair of Spanish Culture and Civilization at New York University.
The Chair for Artistic Studies. 20th/21th Century, born of the collaboration between the Universitat de València, the Universitat Politècnica de València, the Miguel Hernández University and the IVAM aims to encourage the reflection about the life of images both in the art world and in the social life world, including the imaginary. It will make it with an open mind and avoiding academic, artistic or technological restrictions but increasing and benefiting from the use of all the available academic, museum and institutional supports. For this reason, its organisation under the wing of the IVAM is ideal as long as it can enrich its activities with the reflection about the exhibitions, facilities or conferences as well as the projection cycles.
