The office for the Principal of the UV hosted on Tuesday 22 July the creation of the mixed committee of the Fisabio Chair for the Promotion of the Biomedical Research. The event has been attended, from the University, by Guillermo Palao, Vice-Principal of Internationalization and Cooperation; Federico Pallardó, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Odontology; Andrés Moya, professor of the Department of Genetics, Faculty of Biological Science, who will direct the Chair.

From the Fisabio Foundation, Eloy Jiménez, managing director; Estíbaliz López, director of the Scientific Promotion Area; and María José Carrión, director of the economics area have attended to the event.
With this Chair, the UV and the Fisabio Foundation will promote health and biomedical research, and will motivate training activities and university studies extension, oriented towards the knowledge, the research and the continuous dissemination of the results.
Among others, the following activities are foreseen: Research Awards open to all academic community and/or professional, training courses, conferences (with a disseminative/training purpose, where first level lecturers may intervene, both in the field of business and universities), and researches sponsored by the Chair.
Moreover, the Chair, may provide, among others, the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral grants; prizes for degree and post-degree works, lectures, motivation of researcher cooperation, collaboration in the training plans of the company/institution.
