Community Building: riot, action, participation in residential inclusion.

Monografia

In the Global Village where social inequality and residential exclusion are more and more evident, the necessity to tackle this reality in an integral and collective way, both from the research and the intervention turns imperative. This document was created with the objective to explore and share effective methodologies and successful experiences based on the scientific evidence or informed by the practice in the fight against homelessness and the pro to social equality. The residential exclusion is not just a homelessness issue; it is a mirror of multiple dimensions that include socio-economic, politic and personal factors. This phenomenon has shown an alarming increase, with numbers that reflect a significate rise in people in street situation.

This book, tackles these multiple dimensions both from the research and the intervention, including, the more and more emergent, real participation and empowering of the protagonists. “Community Building: Research, Action, Participation in Residential Inclusion” is a work that tackled in an integral way the problem of homelessness and residential exclusion. Divided in three sections.

The first embodies those studies that analyse the data extracted from different territories and divergent realities linked with homelessness making approximations, and/or certain analysis for the appropriate diagnosis in which support future research, policies and interventions. In the second block we find those proposals extracted from interventions or actions that transcend further than a mere action in order to bring about change towards a fairer society and with a real participation of all the agents involved. Lastly, there is a miscellaneous section which we have chosen to call reflections, to guess a different space of participation and in which unusual contributions can be incorporated to be reflected in these type of documents.
