This document provides a full view of the main challenges, opportunities and pedagogical applications that Artificial Intelligence poses in higher education, with particular emphasis on communication. Its purpose is to guide professors in the responsible use of these tools, promoting teaching innovation, transparency and critical learning.
The guide is divided in six main blocks:
- AI in teaching: challenges and opportunities, analysing the current use students and professors make of AI, skills professors must develop and the role of institutions in the integration of these technologies.
- AI for the documentation phase of teaching preparation, presenting search, analysis and synthesis tools, including applications based on academic databases and ‘limited expert’ models.
- AI for the elaboration of evaluation materials and tests, showing how to generate presentations, images, activities and evaluation tests with AI support along with ethical and method recommendations.
- Transparency in AI use in classroom, teaching how to quote, reference and communicate the use of AI in academic work, guaranteeing good practices and respect to academic integrity.
- Implementation of AI in classroom, including the guidelines for professors, with examples of AI-based didactic projects (like interview simulators, journalism approach generators or bias detectors) and justification of AI use in academic projects.
- Detection of fraudulent use of AI, including strategies to identify plagiarism and ill use of generative tools, with advice to design activities and evaluation that reduce the temptation of bad use.
With this publication, the Chair of Audiovisual Prospects and Analysis of UV and UJI along with CACV strengthen their commitment with ethical and critical education in AI applied to communication. The guide aims to balance technological innovation with pedagogical reflection while providing tools to help professors integrate AI in classroom without losing any academic rigor or intellectual autonomy.
