
The Development Studies UNESCO´s Chair, with the Department of Art History of the UV organize the conferences “SPACE, GENDER, MEMORY: meeting of the UV and collectives related with gender, cultural diversity and social use of the patrimony”. It will take place on 18, 19 and 20 October.
The conferences deal with the relationship between the urbanistic space and the social reality of those who live in it. The programme of the sessions is structured in three parts, one for each day. The first one begins with the projection of "¿Dónde estoy cuando estoy en casa?”, a documentary about the constitution of a ‘place of origin’ for mothers and children immigrants, and a colloquium about the relationship between the space, transmission and identity.
The second part of the sessions, “Gender reflected in the urban and architectonic space”, will treat the historic relationship between woman and urbanistic space with different presentations of personalities of the Universitat Jaume I, the UPV and the UV.
Finally, “Utopias, heterotopias, involved”, which will talk about the patrimony as a vertebral element of the social struggle, in a debate in which it will participate some researchers and social activists and also professionals related with social and aftercare of the urbanistic patrimony of the neighbourhoods of Cabañal and la Coma.
