The Youth Chair of the Universitat de València is advancing in the development of the European Skills Maps Project, with a new conference, held in the metropolitan area of Porto.

On this occasion, the activity was carried out with the professionals of the Escuela de Segunda Oportunidad AE2O de Matosinhos, and organization leading in socio-educational support for adolescents and young people who have fallen outside the mainstream education system. The meeting combined training and opportunities for shared reflection, focused on rethinking practices, methodologies and intervention strategies.

This session provided the opportunity to explore how to incorporate real innovation processes into everyday work with young people, especially in contexts of vulnerability. The aim of this project is to identify, systematize and transfer the tools that improve the professional skills and reinforce the impact of the socio-educational intervention.

Beyond the theoretical framework, the project carried out the need to bring the innovation into everyday life: in the classrooms, in the workshops, in the meeting places and in support processes. To innovate, in that sense, involves reviewing the practices, generating new skills maps and developing responds adapted to the changing realities of young people.

With this new phase in Portugal, the Chair reassures its compromise with the European cooperation and with the continuous improvement of socio-educational intervention, consolidating the SKILLS MAPS as a place of shared learning and professional transformation.
