During the interview, David Gil talked about the last Emancipation Observatory that the Spanish Youth Council has presented, as well as about the difficulties that today’s youth has in emancipating.

The Emancipation Observatory of the Spanish Youth Council integrates and expands on a single publication the preceding Youth Housing in Spain Observatory (OBJOVI) and Youth Employment in Spain Observatory (OBJOVEM). Their main objective is to offer a regular and exhaustive monitoring of some objectifiable elements related to employment and housing that define the conditions of life and the processes of transition towards adult life of the young population of Spain.

David Gil Solsona is part of the work team of the Youth Chair and full-time trainee lecturer of the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology. Last June 2023, he presented his doctoral thesis titled “La emancipación compleja. cambios en los procesos de independencia juvenil en España entre 1990 y 2020 en perspectiva comparada”, directed by full-time university professor of Sociology Carlos X. Simó Noguera.
