Organised by the Valencian Department of Treasury, Public Works and Integration of the National Territory through the Chair of Demetrio Ribes with the collaboration of the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia, Adif and the City Hall of Valencia, on 1 June will start the conference cycle around the celebration of the 100th anniversary of L’Estació del Nord de València (1917-2017).

This first conference, organised by the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia, is entitled “L'Estació del Nord: a modernist jewel of the Viennese trend in Valencia” and will be taught by the architect and doctor by the TU Wien and the Universitat Politècnica de València, Dr. Ms. María Mestre Martí. The event will be presented by Dr. Mr. Luis Arciniega García, professor of the Universitat de València and Co-director of the Demetrio Ribes Chair.

The conference will introduce L’Estació del Nord in its historical, cultural and architectonic context, underlining different characteristics that make it stand out as a jewel of the Valencian modernism. The event will start at 19:30 at Salón Sorolla, Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia, and entrance is free.
