The creation of the Valencian Territorial Studies Chair (ESTEVAL) aims to become the central nucleus from which to analyse, investigate and disseminate the issues related to the Valencian territory, at local, territorial and global levels. The work of both institutions will generate synergies that allow progress in the management of the territory and the transmission of these advances to society, both for their knowledge and for their implication and contribution.

The chair will focus on the promotion of seminars, conferences, sessions and high-level publications whose objective will be the specialised research and the public dissemination of its advances within a framework of analysis, enabling greater social participation and a rigorous study of the decisions to be taken by the Provincial Council of Valencia.

The aim, therefore, is to ensure that the Territorial Studies Chair is a decisive and functional link between the educational and research activity of the universities with the action of the Provincial Council of Valencia regarding the municipalities and regions of the province, in order to obtain decisive information in the social, economic, demographic and infrastructure contexts of the different regions that form the province as a base of study.
