Its objective is to promote research, training and dissemination of knowledge in the management and recovery of residual water resources.

On October 18, the company DAM -Depuración de Aguas del Mediterráneo- and the Universitat de València signed a collaboration agreement for the creation of a Chair on Integral Management and Resource Recovery of Wastewater.

At the ceremony of the signing carried out in the office of the principal of the university building, they were attended by Santiago Amores, general director of DAM and the rector of the Universitat de València, Esteban Morcillo.

The aim of the chair is the promotion of educational, cultural, research and university extension activities, aimed at knowledge and dissemination of management and the recovery of residual water resources. One of the most important challenges of the Chair will be to achieve that, in the industrial sector as well as in society in general, wastewater is not conceived as a mere waste that we must dispose of as a source of resources (water, energy, fertilizers) of enormous economic and environmental value.

Among the specific points included in the agreement is the creation of awards for final master's and doctoral thesis and the provision of training courses on the integral management and recovery of residual water resources aimed at students and professionals in the sector.

From the informative point of view, the DAM Chair will be organizing conferences with speakers of recognized prestige that bring value to the company and to the university.

DAM also committed to through this agreement the offer of training practices for students of degree and masters and, to sponsor research related to the subject of the Chair
