It is a collaboration between three public universities, the Universitat de València, the Universitat Politècnica de València, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and the IVAM, and it pretends to be a focus of research, study and spread of the visual art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Its aim will be to encourage the reflection about the life of images both in the art world and in the social life world, including the imaginary. It will make it with an open mind and avoiding academic, artistic or technological restrictions but increasing and benefiting from the use of all the academic, museum and institutional supports available. For this reason, its organisation under the wing of the IVAM is ideal as long as it can enrich its activities with the reflection about the exhibitions, facilities or conferences as well as the projection cycles.
