The Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the Universitat de València will hold on 18 and 19 October the JPod Valencia 2024 Congress, an event gathering experts, academics, content creators and professionals of the podcasting industry to debate about the trends and future of the sound medium.
With the title “The podcast and the future of audio communication”, this congress seeks to analyse the impact and evolution of the podcast as a communication tool and its integration in sectors such as education, outreach and media.
The event, with the participation of renowned speakers and international professionals, will offer conferences, panel discussions, workshops and practical session about the challenges, opportunities and technological advances faced by podcasting.
The congress will also be the opening scene of #EspaiPodcastUV, a radio study at the Universitat de València dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of podcasting and it will be held the exhibition "El podcast #ElMur, una historia de la nostra memòria democràtica", curated by Carlos López Olano and Eduardo Torres.
The event will end with the award ceremony of the Podcast Association Awards, where renowed journalist Iñaki Gabilondo will receive the award “Alife of audio” in recognition of his career path.
The JPod Valencia 2024 Congress, with the support of the Chair for Audiovisual Prospects and Analysis (CAPA), promises to become a reference for those wanting to understand the present and future of podcasting in an international and academic environment.
