The Senate of the Universitat de València, in the sitting on 23 October 2003, approved the proposal of the University Statutes.
On 2 April 2004, the Council of the Generalitat forwarded the agreement by which objections to the legality of the proposed University Statutes were formulated.
In the sitting on 27 May 2004, the Senate approved the incorporation of a part of the objections and the non-admission of others.
By Decree 128/2004, 30 July, the Council of the Generalitat approved the Statutes of the Universitat de València (Estudi General), which were published in the DOGV [2004/8213], on 3 August 2004, in which several amendments about the text that the Senate sent were introduced. These amendments were the subject to contentious-administrative appeals submitted by our University.
Judgment of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community dated 18 October 2005, by which the appeal against the Council’s Decree 128/2004 that approved the Statutes is partially admitted.
A cassation appeal against the mentioned judgment of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community is presented on 9 November 2005.
Judgment of the Supreme Court dated 13 October 2008, for which the cassation appeal against the judgment of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community dated 18 October 2005 is dismissed.
By Decree 45/2013, 28 March, from the Council, the Statutes of the Universitat de València (Estudi General) approved by Decree 128/2004, 30 July, from the Council, are amended. By Decree 86/2026, 5 June, from the Council, the Statutes of the Universitat de València (Estudi general) are modified, approved by Decree 128/2004, 30 July, from the Council, and amended by Decree 45/2013, 28 March, for its adaptation to the Organic Law 2/2023, 22 March, from the University System. The headings of the eighth chapter of the first title, the third chapter and the fourth chapter of the second title, the first, second, third, and fourth chapter of the third title, the second chapter of the third title, the fifth chapter of the sixth title, and the first and second section of the fifth chapter of the sixth title are modified.
The heading of the fifth section of the first chapter of the third title has been deleted, and the articles of the second chapter of the third title have been organised in three new sections. In the fourth title, the articles have been organised by adding a new second chapter. Therefore, the subsequent chapters of this title have been renumbered, going from six to seven chapters. In the fifth title, the heading of the second chapter has been deleted. Therefore, the third chapter of this title becomes the second chapter.
