Last Friday, 24 April 2026, we were pleased to welcome Enrique Rubio, Director of the National Audit Office within the General Intervention Board of the State Administration and President of the ICAC from 2016 to 2020, who delivered the seminar entitled “The Quality Control System of Auditors” within the training framework of the Master’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing and Management Control.

He highlighted the importance of having a good quality control system in audit firms, since the proper performance of audit engagements depends on it. In addition, he introduced attendees to the review of such quality control, both at firm level and in relation to ICAC inspections, thereby underlining the importance of this body as a regulatory and supervisory authority.

Finally, he provided some guidance on how public service is carried out within the scope of his position and what alternatives exist for joining the bodies available in the field of public audit.
