We live in the data era. There has been an increase in the amount of data available of any type. There are all kind of data: structured or not, socials, financial, industrial, personal out there waiting for being used to generate efficiency. As a result, the need for technical applications to analyse and extract information from the data has become crucial.  Intelligent analysis  allows us a new approach to face the problems that were nearly impossible to treat so far. The conference served as a meeting point between solution providers, companies that apply this technology, innovative enterprises and the academic field.

Intelligent analysis allows us a new approach to face the problems that were nearly impossible to treat so far.

Currently, the knowledge on Big Data, Internet of Things Predictive Analytics are the most demanded. In detail, specialist in Big Data was the most sought professional profile. Data science progresses at high speed and this conference was an opportunity to share this advances to those principaly concerned. The event was addressed to all professionals and companies that want use data to achieve benefits. Ultimately, to leave behind the old  Data Warehousing and come on board to Predictive Analytics and the  Big Data.

How can you become a Big Data professional?

School of Engineering will offer the Master in Data Science  the following academic year; 2016-2017. This postgraduate degree aims to provide the student with a more complete set of skills in three key dimensions: computing, statistics and business and health applications. Students will acquire an advance and rigorous analytics training in quantitative techniques and methods to perform advanced data analysis.

First conference was hold by the director of IDAL and future director of the Màster in Data Science  School of Engineering, Emilio Soria, who gave a speech about  Data as the energy of the XXI century. Thereupon some successful examples (within companies such as TINÁMICA, EVERIS, GMV i CAP GEMINI) in the analysis of Big Data were presented. At last, companies like ARANCO, Agència Valenciana del Turisme and Wolfram Research (Mathematica programme’s creator) shared different experiences.
