The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the Universitat de València (ETSE-UV) will host on 26th June the conference “Artificial Intelligence. A disruptive change” on artificial intelligence (AI) and its current situation. The conference is organised by the Intelligent Data Analysis Laboratory (IDAL) and is sponsored by the company Baleària. All the activities will take place in the Assembly Hall of ETSE-UV. Entrance is free, but previous registration is required at the specific website of the conference.

The session will have a total of 4 panels of discussion and a conference. The opening ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. It will count on the presence of María Vicenta Mestre, Principal of the Universitat de València; Adolfo Utor, President of Baleària; and  Emilio Soria, Director of the Master’s Degree in Data Science of ETSE-UV. Emilio Soria’s conference “Humanidad 2.0: aplicando IA” will start at 9:45 a.m.  The representatives of IDAL, Santa Bárbara Smart Health and QUIBIM will be in charge of celebrating the first panel of discussion of the conference at 10:25 a.m. It will focus on the relationship between AI and healthcare.

The second panel of discussion “IA en la industria” will take place at 11:30 and it will be given by representatives of Everis, Capgemini and Tinámica. Then, representatives of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME), PLEXUS, Management Solutions and Orange will discuss on depth the presence of artificial intelligence in the business world at 12:15 p.m.  Finally, the last panel of discussion will be “People Analytics” and it counts on the participation of CEPSA, Telefónica and Naturgy. It will take place at 1:15 p.m.

“AI is the new electricity” is a famous quote of one of the most cutting-edge researchers in the field of artificial intelligence. The objective of the conference is providing examples of the implementation of this technology in several fields such as healthcare, companies, economy and human resources (this is known nowadays as people analytics). Panels of discussion of the companies involved will speak about the advantages of applying to these techniques and the expected change in their use in medium and long-terms.
