Cultural Heritage, in its tangible and intangible aspects, is the engine of Local Development, not only for promoting the economy but also because it creates a sociocultural identity which is able to promote that community strengthening that finally contributes to Local Development.
Creeds and beliefs that lay the foundation of cultural cosmovision of each nation and society represents one of the most ancient aspects which is also sometimes millenary, of that intangible heritage taking the form of rituals, practices and social concrete habits on a regular basis. When it comes to Projects of Development, it is very important to know that intangible framework of the cultural heritage because it drives us frequently to complex pairings like the one related to social inclusion and exclusion, able to limit or promote the compliance of the Human Rights.
Cinema and audio visual documentaries have the potential to move the spectator to the field and consequently, to different kind of scenarios in which it is possible to analyse these overviews that take us from the intangible of the heritage to culture, and from here to those pairings that promote or limit fundamental freedom in society. We will take a look at that in this cycle, with a critic view that will take us to five scenarios of ethnic, religious and cultural plurality: India, Tunisia, Chile, the Lebanon and Liberia.
This cinema cycle will be celebrated during the five Thursdays of June 2017, from 16:00 to 19:00. There were be an introduction to the movie or documentary and, finally, a debate and a round table leaded by a specialised presenter.
