Dear Prospective Student,

You are about to apply to the official joint Master in Economics of the University of Valencia and the University Jaume I, an exciting program designed to offer a high quality training to motivated students with a will to learn. Our faculty enjoys a hard-earned reputation in the main fields of economics and econometrics and with years of experience in research and teaching.

We are looking for open-minded students who, independently of their background, enjoy deepening into the fundamentals of economic mechanisms. If this profile suits you, here you will find a stimulating environment to fulfill your expectations by means of a demanding program that blends high quality lectures with tutorials, theoretical explanations with their empirical backup, and a faculty staff ready to help you.

The Master in Economics of the University of Valencia and the University Jaume I has been designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to improve your job prospects in high quality jobs in international organizations, public policy institutions, private companies (including financial and consulting companies), research departments, and universities. The Master is a one-year program spanning three terms. During the first term, the student has to take four compulsory core subjects on microeconomics and macroeconomics, econometrics and quantitative methods. In the second term, the student can choose from a variety of more specialized subjects that lead to a deeper knowledge of the organization and functioning of markets, the decision making of economic agents and the international economy. The third term is dedicated to individual research and you are expected to write a dissertation under the supervision of a staff member.

After successfully completing the Master's degree, the student will also be equipped with skills in the use of relevant software programs such as MATLAB, STATA and R, among others.

Both European and foreign students pay the same registration fee. The low cost compared to other unofficial master's courses, combined with highly qualified teaching staff internationally trained in research and teaching, makes the joint Master in Economics of the University of Valencia and the University Jaume I have exceptional value.

We are looking forward to receiving your application.

Sincerely,

The directors
