“Censoring, gender and discourse. Spanish female writers of the fifties of 21th century”

Next Thursday, 1 December, the group of the UV in charge of the MUTE project will organise the workshop “Censoring, gender and discourse. Spanish female writers of the fifties of 21th century”;  given by Lucía Montejo Gurruchaga, tenured professor of the UNED.

The event will be divided in three parts. In the first one, it will be described the functioning of the censor system and the strategies that writers used to avoid punishments.  The second part will be focused in the social situation of gender and the invisibility that women writers that started their creative trajectory in the fifties of the 21th century suffered. Finally, the workshop will close by the application of the theoretical aspects in one of the last works of the Valencian author Concha Alós, who as an example of bravery in those difficult years at the end of the 70’s.
