The 29th National Congress of the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy for Children and Teenagers (SEPYPNA) will be celebrated next 31 March and 1 April in Granada.

This next edition, titled Social crisis and mental health: Psychopathological illnesses and therapeutic responses‘, goes deep into the interrelation or influence between Mental Health and Social Crisis (more like diversity among social crisis) in its aspect of lacking socioeconomic minimal conditions to live as a child or as a teenager.

The risk of poverty increases and makes the health mental problems worse and that makes those minors be more intense.. The absolute necessity of actions that invest in this inclination is proposed insistently. 

Psychiatry, psychology and psychotherapy professionals of children and teenagers cannot avoid being immersed where these children and teenagers’ problems happen. Among their goals, to accompany them in the hunt of protection factors will always be present.

The challenge is also about   transfer the comprehension models and the several therapeutic interventions from the clinical field to the different environments where these children and teenagers spend their daily life suffering. Social and community resources, health centres, paediatrics, primary health care, schools and high schools. All of these is executed in the collaboration ─which is often needed to be creative─ of professionals or voluntary citizens who work or support those children and teenagers.

The congress will count with the presence of speakers who have extensive experience and implication both in the clinic and in the reflection and integration of a comprehensive model that is psychodynamic and relational.
