More than 160 researchers from Spain, in 27 research groups and 6 associated clinical groups, are active (with international partners) in order to transfer to National Health System advances and discoveries generated in this new therapeutic technique. The Red Cell Therapy (Tercel) is divided into 6 platforms, providing techniques and equipment to all research groups, and in 3 general areas of research for the 3 germ layers (endoderm, mesoderm, and ectoderm).PROMETEO/2008/163 (Simón Vallés, Carlos Antonio, PI) 2008-2011Conselleria d’Educació, Generalitat Valenciana.Isolation and characterization of endometrial somatic stem cells in endometriosis. Pathogenic and therapeutic implications. This project aims the identification and characterization of somatic stem cell population of endometrium in endometriosis using cell biology techniques previously described and published by our group in a mouse model, and even unprecedented in human and we developed in our previous project SAF 2004-00204 which was aimed at identifying somatic stem cell population in healthy women. Finally the somatic stem cell population "endometriotic" identified in this project will be used to search for therapeutic targets that inhibit clonal growth as a new therapeutic approach to treat endometriosis.LOGO CEPROMETEOII/2013/018 (Simón Vallés, Carlos Antonio, PI) 2013-2016Conselleria d’Educació, Generalitat Valenciana.Isolation and characterization of endometrial somatic stem cells in endometriosis. Pathogenic and therapeutic implications.Identification of Endometrial Stem Cell Markers. From Animal Models to Human Endometrial Stem Cell TherapyOur hypothesis is based on the analysis of specific Endometrial Stem Cell Markers in order to identify SSC in human endometrium and to know more about the localization, regulation and cellular niche in human endometrium. We pretend to localize specific Stem Cell Markers in the endometrial cells in different menstrual phases. Moreover, we aim to isolate and to differentiate in vitro and in vivo human endometrium from those endometrial markers cells. Finally we prove our results in two established animal models.LOGO CE
