
On June 26th, 2026, Iván Soriano Díaz, student of the PhD Program in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modeling, defended his doctoral thesis entitled "Accurate modeling of the photophysics of Ir(III) ionic transition-metal complexes." The research was supervised by Dr. Angelo Giussani and Prof. Enrique Ortí Guillén, both members of the teaching and research staff of the Department of Physical Chemistry.
The examining committee, composed of Professor Daniel Escudero, from KU Leuven, Professor Carmen Sousa from the University of Barcelona, and Dr. Antonio Francés Monerris, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry of UV, awarded the thesis the grade of “outstanding”.
