‘El verí del teatre’ (‘The poison of the theatre’) is back this season in Teatre Micalet. Here we find the most translated and edited work by Rodolf Sirera.

Although it was written for two male actors, this performance is interpreted by two Valencian great actress: Pilar Almeria and Cristina Garcia under the direction of Joan Peris.

In Paris in the late eighteenth century, Gabrielle de Beaumont, a fashion actress, is invited by a marchioness of extravagant hobbies to visit her in the palace. There, she will receive the commission of interpreting a role playing written by the marchioness. Soon she will verify that everything is a trap of the marchioness to undergo her to a cruel experiment.

In ‘El verí del teatre’, Rodolf Sirera thinks about the art and life, about the fiction and truth, about the artist’s freedom or its submission to the power.
