AlumniUV: El Club Tirant de abril
Face-to-face

La Comunidad AlumniUV cuenta con un Club de Lectura denominado "Tirant" que analiza obras de literatura escritas en valenciano.

“Les calces al sol” is a light and lively novel by Regina Rodríguez Sirvent with a fiery start and body about that changes in life that lead to growth. Rita Racons unawarely becomes an aupair in the United States. She is at Barcelona’s airport expecting her flight to New York, where she will be learning English for the summer. However, her poor skills in the language bring her to Atlanta at the Bookland family’s door, to babysit their three children for an entire year.

The Booklands are far from her typical American family. Intellectuals expecting their new aupair to stand on the same ground as their brilliant children. Even if she doesn’t, chaotic Rita will teach these children what there is to learn outside the books. She will be daring to expand her mind and find her true call.

Regina Rodríguez Sirven (Puigcerdà, 1963) is a graduate of Psychology, but after a year of hard work, she found herself out of place. She went looking for herself. She came back and studied script writing and creative writing at Ateneo Barcelonés. She has published columns, written program scripts and presented video documentaries. She hadn’t won any Jocs Florals award or other literary prize when she published “Les calces al sol”. Just one year later, with over 30 000 readers, she won the Isla de los Libros award by popular demand.
