Eclectic display that gathers material related to a part of the alternative cultural scene which developed in the city in the 90’s. Muralla Hall Limited capacity. Free entrance.
Produced by the Rector Peset Hall of Residence and the Vice-chancellor of Culture and Society of the Universitat de València, in collaboration with Caixa Popular, the exhibition has been curated by Marisa Giménez (cultural manager and curator), Óscar Mora (multidisciplinary artist and musician) and Fernando García del Real (plastic artist, designer and musician), in collaboration with Quique García Aranda and Teté Amat, and Juan Araque as audiovisual producer.
The show does not intend to be an extensive compendium of every culturally alternative thing that has happened in Valencia during those years, but more like a reflection of the outbreak of talent and creative freedom that flooded some parts of the city: the bands (Max Malos, Las Máquinas, Fitzcarraldo, Los Magnéticos, Los Mocetones, Ulan Bator Trío or Una Sonrisa Terrible amongst others), the bars and concert halls (such as Gasolinera, La Marxa, Zepelin, Planta Baja, Café l'Espill or Arena and Garage Auditorium), the alternative cultural communities (La Esfera Azul, El Purgatori or Kasal Popular Flora), the performances, festivals and events (Memoria Industrial, Falla experimental, Fanzinerama, Performatori, Festival Agroerótic), the articles, fanzines and mass media estranged from the commercial circuit (Fancómic, Kovalsky Fly, Dirty Valencia, Fe, Radio Funny), etc.
