According to Einstein, Emmy Noether was the best female mathematician in history. Nonetheless, this great researchers worked unpaid for the most part of her career and she never managed to become a professor, although her contributions were recognised during her life. In this talk, Leonor Chico will talk about Noether’s life and the historical circumstances that had an important impact on her life and other Jewish female researchers. Although there is little information about her private life, she seems to be an exceptional human being according to the testimonies of her friends and disciples.
