The situation that has arisen in recent years in relation to the management of the arrival in Europe of thousands of people displaced by various conflicts, especially in the case of the war in Syria, has once again called into question the policies of the host countries in the midst of a large-scale humanitarian crisis. The scenes that we have repeatedly seen of the Mediterranean and the borders of the European Union show a profound legal and moral failure of the refugee protection systems. In this course we want to approach them from various approaches (academia analysis, civil society activism, professional action and the role of the media) to a global understanding of the issue of refugees and displaced persons.
