Jury

The 10 comics with the best scores in the first phase of evaluation through the coordinators of the participating universities (excluding those submitted by their institution) will be evaluated by a jury made up of professionals in the fields of comics, design, and scientific communication.

Members of the jury

Álvaro Pons Moreno. Lecturer in the Department of Optics, Faculty of Physics, University of Valencia. Comics critic and director of the Fundación SM-Universitat de València Chair of Comic Studies.

Óscar Hernández Muñoz. Graduate in Medicine and Surgery and Doctor in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. Since 2007 he has been a lecturer in the Department of Design and Image at the Complutense University of Madrid, specialising in 2D and 3D illustration.

Mª Blanca Mayor Serrano. PhD in Translation from the University of Granada, she is a lecturer on the Master's Degree in Comics and Education at the University of Valencia. She has been doing research on graphic medicine and science since 2011. The result of her research is, among other works, the book "El cómic como recurso didáctico en los estudios de Medicina. Manual with exercises", published in 2016 by the Dr. Antonio Esteve Foundation, Barcelona.

Miriam Rivera Iglesias. Science communicator specialising in comic format at Biomiics - Biología en Cómics. She has worked with clients such as King's College London, the VHIO, the European Virus Archive Global and the EFSA, among others. Graduate in Human Biology and Master in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication. Technical secretary and head of communication of the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication.
