Language requirements

Undergraduate Erasmus+ Studies 2025-2026

If you are applying for an Erasmus+ Studies mobility you must ensure that you have a language certificate proving that you have the level required by the university you wish to study at.

You can consult the list of destinations available and the necessary language requirements on the ‘Portal Serveis Estudiant.’ You must select ‘Exchange programs with other universities’ and ‘Exchange programs consultation.’

Students who already have an accreditation can consult the table of linguistic equivalences.

For students who do not have any accreditation, two language exams are organised:

1.- Specific language exams for B2 level. Face-to-face exams

Registration will be open from 1 July 2024 to 11 September 2024. The tests will take place on 20 September (German and French), and 21 September (English).

The Languages Centre offers exam preparation courses, which will take place in August and September 2024.

Students must apply for registration via online on the website of the Languages Centre of the Universitat de València. The registration fee of 70€ must be paid during registration.

Students who pass the test will receive a certificate issued by the Languages Centre. English certificates are recognised by ACLES.

These certificates are valid for the Erasmus+ Studies Programme, with some exceptions. Some universities only require specific language certificates (TOEFL, IELTS and/or Cambridge). Make sure you check the language requirements on the website of the university of your choice. This precaution is particularly recommended for British universities.

Request the reimbursement from the Languages Centre from 3 February to 25 March 2025, once the exam is approved and the application form is submitted in the Studies Erasmus+ Undergraduate call in November 2024.

2. Specific language tests in English, French, Italian, German or Portuguese for B1 level. Face-to-face exams

Registration will be open from 4 to 22 November via the Erasmus+ application in Portalumne.

The B1 language tests will take place on 14 December 2024. The time and place will be announced soon. The tests are free of charge and students can take up to two of them. The certificate will only be valid for mobility programmes taking place in the academic year 2025-26.

The results of the tests will be published on the International Relations and Cooperation Service website.
