Degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, Universitat de Valencia, 2013 (first promotion) I am currently writing my Doctoral Thesis in the Centre for Molecular Biology (UAM-CSIC) I decided to study the Degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences because I have always liked Biology very much and I had no doubts that I wanted to be a researcher in this field. I saw an excellent opportunity in the new Degree of the UV, for it had a curriculum that offered a molecular and cellular vision of Biology, some aspects that have always draw my attention. In the first academic year I learnt the most basic notions, whereas the other academic years were focused on molecular aspects and applications in Biomedicine. Studying this degree means a lot of dedication, for the level of requirement is high. Apart from learning new concepts, we have to work with them and apply them to the resolution of problems, the critical analysis of scientific works and the writing of some small research project. Moreover, you can take first-hand contact as a collaborator student and as a trainee student, with the experimental work of a research lab. All this experience has been worthwhile and has been very gratifying, without doubt. The training received has lived up to my expectations and it has allowed me to accomplish one of my purposes in life, for now devote myself to research. I am currently working in my doctoral thesis project on the role of the mitochondria in the muscular diseases.
