Scottish company Petex donates ten licences of its MOVE geological software to the University of Valencia, worth almost £2 million

The University of Valencia has recently established a collaboration agreement with the Scottish company Petex, through which the company is donating ten licences of its advanced MOVE geological modelling software for educational and academic research purposes. The equivalent commercial value of the licences and associated maintenance amounts to £1,928,384.01, representing a significant contribution to the development of teaching and research in the Earth Sciences at the University of Valencia.

MOVE enables structural and kinematic analysis and modelling in 2D and 3D, as well as different types of geomechanical and fracture modelling, fault and stress analysis, among other applications. The availability of these licences will allow advanced geological modelling tools to be incorporated into both teaching activities and research projects carried out at the University of Valencia.

The collaboration between Petex and the University of Valencia will provide the university community with access to this specialised technology for training, teaching and academic research activities. The licence also includes several specialised MOVE modules and is provided to the University free of charge.
