Next Friday 18 September at 11, the Instituto de Robótica y Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (IRTIC) of the UV, the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV) and the companies Airpull Aviation y HTE Consulting will present the Specialisation University Diploma in Applications and Operations with Drones-RPAS, an specific Degree of the UV in the Salón de Grados “Joan Pelechano” (Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria – Bloque 0.1.10
The Diploma will enable students to obtain both the Specific Degree of the UV and the RPAS Advanced Certificate of knowledge for pilots, issued by the ATO Airpull Aviation.
The Diploma is developed at the University due to the undoubtable impact that unmanned aircraft systems, commonly known as drones, are going to have when it comes to present all sorts of services. The idea is to joint research skills with cutting-edge companies and expert in the development and operations with drones, and thus collaborate in the implementation of a diploma that enables the dissemination of scientific knowledge and each their attendants the bases of design of the several applications that currently make use of this kind of aircrafts. The session is geared towards presenting the composition of the work group in charge of teaching the diploma to businessmen, people responsible for public organisms and people on behalf of entities as well as showing the collaboration framework that can be stablished for the future in order to implement new applications and services.
During the session, apart from presenting the Diploma in Applications and Orientation with Drones-RPAS, the activities associated to that will be developed throughout the academic year will be also exposed. Among these activities the events for specific professional groups can be highlighted (journalists, flight controllers, meteorologists, companies’ associates or councils) and the different actions that will be carried out throughout the year in the aerodrome in Requena and other areas authorised to flight Drones-RPAS.
The session will continue with a visit to the facilities of the IRTIC Institute, where an exhibition of different big air-crafts will will take place, drones propelled through turbines and capable of reaching 250 km/h, scale helicopters and multi-copters specialised in different applications.
After the presentation session the first events associated to the university Diploma will be initiated. During the morning of Saturday 19 September a session on “Journalism and Drones” will be held, event organised along with the COSO Foundation aimed at making media professionals know the capacities and opportunities that drones provide for the development of their work.
Likewise, during the weekend the “3rd Len Mount Trophy” will take place, an international tournament of scale helicopters. Some models are expected to be exhibited in the facilities of the IRTIC for the attendants to visit.
