
The Office of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment drives, through UVjob, the first Employment Forum of the Degree in Optics and Optometry on 4 April. In collaboration with the Degree in Optics and Optometry taught in the Faculty of Physics of the Universitat de València, the event will take place in the Espai Vives UV, from 9:15am to 2:00pm.
It is about a session dedicated to the promotion and the push for the employability of future graduates calling companies that are leaders and models in the field of Optics and Optometry who will present their job opportunities.
Among these companies, we can find:
- Alain Afflelou, optician and audiologist with a mission to contribute to the creation of a world with no barriers
- Industrias Ópticas Prats, the only Spanish manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses
- Multiópticas, leading company in the optics field with 40 years of experience
- Óptica y Audiología Universitaria, with more than 30 years committed with the best talent and hundreds of centres
- Soloptical, specialised in optometry, audiology, visual impairment and Ortho-K with highly qualified specialists
- GrandVision Spain, world leader in optical stores and optimal vision care
Representatives of these entities will make up the panel of discussion ‘Optics and Optometry: different roles in the work sphere’ which will be the star of jornada académica, form 9:30am to 11:00am, on the ground floor of the building.
Moderated by professors in the Degree in Optics and Optometry of the UV, Inmaculada Bueno and María Amparo Díez Ajenjo, it will count with the testimonies of the president of theColegio de Ópticos y Optometristas de la Comunitat Valenciana, Andrés Gené; Ana Lembo and Marta Jiménez, from Soloptical; the selección technician Laia Martos and the optician optometrist Sonia Carratalá, from Óptica y Audiología Universitaria; Alberto Cobo, in charge of the training and development at Multiópticas; the optician Iris Duce, from Alain Afflelou; and the optician optometrist Sergio Sánchez, from Industrias Ópticas Prats.
Upon completion, an institutional welcome for the session will take place to turn to networking between companies and students, a central activity in this meeting so that future professionals are able to learn about job offers first hand, interact with company representatives and gather information about requirements, selection processes and the qualities of each organisation.
