The Conference Valencia-Barcelona. Spanish and Catalan. Synchrony and Recent Diachrony will take place on Friday, September 20, in the Salón de Grados, promising an immersion in current research on pragmatics, discourse, and grammatical and lexical changes in the recent diachrony of both Spanish and Catalan.
The program is divided into three blocks throughout the day, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Each block features presentations by professors from the UV Departments of Catalan Philology (Mª Josep Cuenca, Manel Pérez-Saldanya) and Spanish Philology (Antonio Briz, Salvador Pons) - or originating from them (Shima Salameh, Adrià Pardo) - as well as professors from Catalan Philology (Lluís Payrató) and Spanish Philology (Mar Garachana, Daniel Cuní) at the University of Barcelona.
These conferences serve as a fantastic meeting point for the two Universities and their respective Departments of Philology, offering the opportunity to discover similar linguistic phenomena or common methodologies for studying these languages.
