“Europe for Citizens 2014-2020” programme
The new programme Europe for Citizens 2014-2020 aims to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the next seven years, in fields as relevant as the economic growth, safety and the role of Europe in the world. In this scenario, it is very important that the citizens take part in the debates and contribute to define the European policies.
Proposed by the European Commission on 14 December 2011, was discussed at the European Council and at the European Parliament in the following months. The Europe for Citizens 2014-2020 programme was passed definitely on 15 April 2015 by the Council of the EU.
Which kind of projects are financed?
- Projects with European or local dimension and transnational nature.
- Conciliatory and accessible projects to all the citizens, with special attention to the under-represented groups.
- Projects that promote the intercultural dialog and volunteering.
- Projects with a great impact, regardless of their magnitude.
- Furthermore, have preference those projects that contemplate the annual priorities of the Programme.
PROGRAMME ACP CULTURES+ 2014-2020
The Programme ACP Cultures+ is implemented by the ACP Secretary Group of the States (Africa, Caribbean islands, and Pacific) and financed in the framework of the tenth European Development Fund (EDF) by the European Union to a total of €30 million.
This third support programme intra-ACP for the Cultural Sector ACP combines the ACPCultures and ACPFilms programmes, previously implemented with the 9th EDF, in an individual support programme.
ACPCultures+ aims to contribute to the fight against poverty through the development and the consolidation of viable and sustainable cultural industries in the ACP countries by strengthening their contribution to the social and economic development, as well as the preservation of the cultural diversity.
The specific objectives of the Programme are the following:
- The reinforcement of the creation and the production of the cultural goods and services in the ACP States through an approach integrated with the distribution networks;
- Supporting a bigger access at local, regional level between the ACP countries, the European and International markets of the goods and services of the ACP cultural states;
- The construction of the abilities of the professionals of the culture sector in the ACP States;
- Improving the regulatory framework of the culture sector in the ACP States.
