The Chair of Intelligent and Sustainable Territories presented the Connecta-Valencia platform to municipal technicians and political leaders from the La Baronía region in the plenary hall of its headquarters in Estivella on Monday, November 10th. The platform's content, function and objectives were explained during the session, where the audience learned how to access the tool, the dashboards and other features.
The activity is part of the objective of the chair to promote digital transformation in the rural environment, encouraging the development and implementation of technological and sustainable solutions, favouring the competitiveness and innovation of the business fabric of the territory.
Connecta-València integrates data from the network of sensors deployed in the municipalities of the province of Valencia, processes it and offers it to citizens through different channels. The sensors capture information on meteorology, such as temperature, humidity and wind, air quality, noise, mobility, parking availability and water consumption.
They also record water consumption and energy production from solar panels. Concentrating the available information in a single portal is one of the advantages of the platform, as well as the use of a common exchange format.
The information covered by Connecta-València enables management decisions to be made based on real data, new services and business opportunities to be generated and, ultimately, citizens' well-being to be improved while maintaining sustainability policies.
