The CIG-UV takes an innovative micro-credential about the economic and politic reality of China

The Gandia Internacional Centre of the Universitat de València will take from 14 October to 25 November, the micro-credential ‘Bases estratégicas chinas: economía, política y turismo’, a pioneer training activity in Spain. The inscription is open until 29 September through the website of ADEIT.

Inside the framework of the teaching and academic activity of the Teaching Unit in East Asian Studies (UDAEAO) of the UV this training is consolidated as an innovative and exclusive training of specialisation in Oriental Asia Studies with specialty in China in all the Valencian Community to all levels and unique among the superior education of the public and private Valencian universities. The course will be done on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 8:30pm, 7 ECTS/40h, it is recognised with a MECES certification of Level 1: High-Level Specialist and/or EQF of Level 5 and is a training activity pioneer in Spain.

Under the lead of the specialist in Sinology and Oriental Asia Studies Dr. Gabriel Terol, coordinator of the UDAEAO of the Universitat de València, this course reunites learning outcomes that conform a theory and practice qualification, from a global and transcultural perspective to another economic, commercial and touristic perspective of the relations between: China and the Oriental Asia context, global reality and the European Union and Spain.

The Chinese projection in global economy as well as in international commerce as a touristic power will be the thematic developed to favour its comprehension and strategic competitive resource.

With the purpose of giving tools to analyse and understand critically in China inside the framework of their transculturality, international commerce, international relationships and tourism, —and their contextualisation in Oriental Asia—; their goals are determinant. On the one hand, we look to obtain a solid multidisciplinary training to develop economic political and/or touristic professional activities with China, as well as acquiring current and rigorous cross-disciplinary training to know China’s reality. This course looks for, additionally, consolidate strategic bases of interrelation with China, as well as theory, critical and practice tool with which be able to develop commercial, economic and/or touristic professional projects. As a whole, this training looks for the professionalization in the world and the Chinese reality from: a cultural geostrategic, anthropological and commercial, economic and touristic perspectives applicable to interested sectors of the district of la Safor.

The contents of the programme are not strictly academic and this is designed to offer an accessible comprehensible and basic specialisation with which obtain practice and current knowledge. The contents will be developed in flawless lectures with the support of diverse materials by a repertoire of the most renowned researchers and professionals of the academic and institutional world —UV, UAB, UAM, URJC y TURESPAÑA-Ministerio de Industria y Turismo of the Government of Spain— that will teach in the Chinese cultural, social and economic reality.

This 1st edition pretends to position this training of specialisation in the context of the relevance of the practice and updated teaching to students in Oriental Asia Studies and professionals from different and cross-disciplinary activities that revolve around: teaching, research, cultural and diplomatic agencies, translation, journalism, tourism, intercultural mediation, companies, institutions and public and private organisms linked with Oriental Asia but, specially, with China. It also results very relevant the possibility of using this training as a potential and solid training for those who are willing to initiate their own projects in relation to Oriental Asia taking China as their strategic goal.

The requirements of enrolment are to count with undergraduate studies or licenciatura (former Spanish undergraduate degree), not being necessary prior knowledge in Oriental Asia or the Chinese world. However, since places are limited, we will give priority to those who professionally develop their activity in the district of la Safor, students in Oriental Asia Studies (EAO) of Valencian universities and students in EAO from any Spanish or foreign university.
