The councillor of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo, and the rector of the University of Valencia, Mavi Mestre, have signed this Monday an agreement to develop research, formation and dissemination activities about the essential rights, access to justice, mediation and assistance to crime victims.
This agreement is an additional step on the coordination and collaboration that the Department of Justice and the University of Valencia have kept for years, and with this signature, the relationship between both institutions is strengthened. An essential exchange for the development, implantation and tracking of the model of Justice in Valencia.
The agreement also includes promoting the access of the citizens to alternative mechanisms to solve conflicts, that will contribute to its removal from the courts and will grant the recognition and protection of the victim’s rights.
The agreement, that will be valid until the 31st of December of 2023, will allow the development of information and orientation activities to detect and prevent any sexist aggression in the environment of the University of Valencia (violet points).
This incorporates as well other formative and dissemination actions that will contribute to strengthen the protection and promotion of the right of access to justice and protection of the victims.
Furthermore, it establishes that the Generalitat will provide a subsidy of 75.000 euros to the academic institution to carry out research acts, that, through the elaboration of studies, will allow to improve the access to justice for all citizens with equal conditions.
