Second Congress of Food Science and Technology in Valencia

On 27 and 28 February, the Room “Charles Darwin” of the Faculty of Pharmacy hosted the second edition of the Congress of Food Science and Technology (CyTAV). It is a congress organised by the students’ association.

The congress, entitled “Career opportunities: a transversal view of the profession” was attended by dozens of students of the Universitat. They enjoyed 9 lectures. They discussed the different professional opportunities offered by the degree in Food Science and Technology. This way, they could have more information about the business world and the public sector.

The congress was inaugurated by the principal of the Universitat de València, M. Vicenta Mestre; the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, Hortensia Rico; and the president of the congress, Mario Bello. This was followed by lectures by professionals from the agri-food and academic world, as well as a poster and oral communication competitions.

CyTAV is born in 2022, when a group of students decides to create an association. It is an independent students’ association based in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences. This association is created with the aim of publicising their studies through activities, visits and companies in the agri-food sector and the most important event, the annual congress.
