The Universitat presents its Scientific-Technological Offer (STO)

The Universitat de València has presented the platform of the scientific-technological offer to create communication channels between the university offer and the demand of the industries.
The initiative aims to encourage and revitalize knowledge transfer, promote innovative spirit and strengthen collaboration between academic and industrial researchers, visualising and promoting innovative projects that respond to society’s needs.
On the morning of Friday 11th February, the team formed by the vice-principal for Innovation and Transfer and the Web and Marketing Unit of the Universitat de València presented the platform of Scientific-Technological Offer (STO), which makes available to society the capabilities and lines of research, as well as groups, resources, projects and research results that are developed at the Universitat de València.
To begin the presentation, María Dolores Real, vice-principal for Innovation and Transfer, stressed the importance of making capabilities visible and encourage knowledge transfer. The vice-principal thanked the trust for the signed agreements, which made it possible to strengthen the platform for capacity building; she mentioned that the university’s offer is a reflection of 448 research groups and around 4,000 researchers; and finally, she highlighted the hard work of those who, in the difficult context of the pandemic and the limited resources, have made this project possible.
Josep Gonzalbo Gómez, head of the Web and Marketing Unit, emphasised the multidisciplinary nature of the university and its research potential in all branches, has presented the platform and explained how it works the available consultation areas. Likewise, it has also been mentioned that the main concept of this user-friendly and easy access platform is to create links between the scientific-technological offer that allow to solve industrial needs, connecting suppliers and petitioners.
The platform has a constant updating system, where the researchers themselves can personally update the data and the status of their research. The scientific-technological offer includes:
- 450 research groups.
- 77 research results
- 920 resources (infrastructures and equipment available)
- 1590 lines of research
- 1350 scientific and technological capacities
To conclude the presentation, the principal of the Universitat de València Mavi Mestre, being conscious of the time of change and transformation that society is going through, stressed the importance of access to knowledge and the capacity to attract and retain talents, and she has stated that “in order to improve knowledge society, we have to generate stability and promotion for researchers, so as to ensure a growth vector; only then the Valencian society can be an advanced and internationally competitive society”.
