The Principal presenting the Management Report.

The Principal, has notified the Senate in the ordinary session celebrated on 24 July, regarding the 2023 year Management Report.

The report, which can be consulted in this link, has been approved by 136 votes in favour, 3 abstentions and 7 votes against.

The report pointed out that this year the UV is the leading Valencian university, both in absolute and comparative terms. First in teaching, research, publications, citations and culture. A position that also applies to international mobility in Europe and the first in Spain in students with disabilities and in participation and results in sporting competitions.

People
The UV keeps leading the Valencian University System, both in studies offered and in number of students. Regarding the Administrative and service staff and the Teaching and research staff, we have continued with the promotion and stabilisation programmes, although the replacement rate and the budgetary constraints. In that sense, it is a fact that the average age of the UV staff is subtly superior to the Valencian and national average.

Teaching
The UV is still the university with the widest and more diverse training offer of the Valencian Community. Compared with last year, the offer has been increased in two double degrees and a double master's degree.

Moreover, dropout and eligibility rates are much lower than the Valencian and national average rates.

International approach
The UV continues being the first European University in terms of reception of international students and offers more than 800.000€ in grants.

Occupation and entrepreneurship
There has been a strong increasing with nearly 700 participants in entrepreneurship programmes and 400 bursaries granted. Moreover, the UV is leading the Lifelong Learning, especially in micro-credentials.

Research
The UV has invested 58 million euros to research activity. This fact has made possible that the UV is the first Valencian university in terms of research, keeping the same amount in publications and quotes received.

In this way, the university is in a leading position when it comes to national universities, among the top 100 universities in Europe and among top 200 in the world.

Infrastructures
Even without a Funding Plan, the University has doubled the inversion in construction, having invested more than 17 million euros. This money has been used to extend the building 1 of the Science Park, improving the animal facility of the Central Support Service for Research and some remodelling in the Tarongers campus.

Gender equality and Disabilities
We continue being the university in Spain with more disabled students, with a total number of 1,200 students in 2023. 2023 is also a year in which we have worked in the IV Equality Plan, that will be approved soon.

Culture and Sport
Almost 500,000 people have enjoyed a high quality cultural programme, with a grow of 56% compared to the previous year.

The UV is still leading the Spanish university ranking regarding sport competitions and it is the second one in results of sport competitions, first if we only take into account public universities.
