José J. Baldoví is a Distinguished Researcher of Excellence under the Gen-T Plan of the Generalitat Valenciana and Director of the 2D Smart Materials Lab at the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol), Universitat de València. He leads an ERC Starting Grant project, presides over the Association of Excellence Scientists of the GenT Plan (AccenT), is a full member of the Young Academy of Spain, and represents Spain on the Management Committee of the COST Action SuperQumap.

His research develops theoretical and computational frameworks for the chemical design of molecular and two-dimensional smart devices for information technologies. Integrating physics, chemistry, and materials science, his work explores applications in magnonics, spintronics, quantum computing, and sensing devices. He has published over 90 articles, delivered more than 40 invited talks, and received multiple awards, including the 2025 RSEQ “Group Leader” Young Researcher Award.

Baldoví holds a PhD in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the University of Valencia, where he received extraordinary awards at all academic stages. He was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg. Fluent in six languages and an active science communicator, he is committed to sharing the value of nanoscience for a more sustainable future.
