Bridges of Innovation: University, Business and Society Working Together

The University of Valencia is addressing global challenges through research-driven innovation that connects fundamental science with real-world applications. In this roundtable, five leading scientists present advances across diverse fields:

  • Nanotechnology: Smart two-dimensional materials enabling breakthroughs in magnonics, spintronics, quantum systems, and next-generation sensors.
  • Health: Nature-inspired phage-based therapies offering alternatives to traditional medicines against resistant viruses and bacteria.
  • Environment: Earth Observation tools to design resilient and sustainable agricultural strategies in the face of climate extremes.
  • Mental Health: Digital and knowledge-based solutions to improve diagnosis, treatment, and access to care worldwide.
  • Entrepreneurship: Experiences in creating ten biotech companies that turn research into innovation and collaboration for business and society.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate the University’s strength in multidisciplinary research and its capacity to build innovation bridges between science, business, and society for a better future.
