Lucía Hipólito (Valencia, 1982) holds a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Valencia, where she is currently a professor and researcher. Since the beginning of her scientific career in 2005, she has worked in the field of neuropharmacology of addiction, with a particular focus on alcohol addiction. She has carried out research at renowned institutions such as the University of Cambridge, Rutgers University, and Columbia University.

Dr. Hipólito has received numerous awards, including the Young Investigator Award from ESBRA (European Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism), the INIP (Institute for Neuroimmunopharmacology Research), Talent Jove, and the Fundolor Award (Valencian Foundation for Pain Research and Treatment) and the Young Investigator Award from the INRC (International Narcotics Research Conference).

In addition to her academic and teaching roles, in pharmaceutical technology and neuropharmacology, Dr. Hipólito serves as the Principal Investigator of the DOREAL lab at the University Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (BIOTECMED). Her work focuses on understanding neural mechanisms involving the endogenous opioid system in the regulation of chronic pain, addiction, and mood disorders, aiming to develop safer and more effective pharmaceutical therapies.
